WWE Superstars preview: Mark Henry vs Chris Masters, Shelton Benjamin vs Tyler Reks, R-Truth vs Charlie Haas, and Kelly Kelly vs Beth Phoenix

OK, I’ll confess that I’m not a fan of either Mark Henry or recent World Wrestling Entertainment returnee Chris Masters, but I would get a kick out of seeing the Masterlock applied on The World’s Strongest Man.

Tune in to this week’s WWE Superstars to see if that will happen. Here’s the teaser from WGN America.

Mikey Arroyo TV Patrol video clip: ‘Do you want your president to eat in a McDonald’s or some turo-turo?’

Last night, Filipinos on microblogging sites like Twitter and Plurk and social networking sites such as Facebook were spreading the word about Pampanga Representative Juan Miguel “Mikey” Arroyo’s remarks on TV Patrol World.

The solon was defending his mother, President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, against widespread criticism over the expensive dinners at posh New York restaurants.

Unfortunately, sometimes when you open your mouth, you make things worse.

Now, we the Filipino people are being asked if we forgot that the President is not just an ordinary person and needs to keep her dignity. “Do you want your president to eat in a McDonald’s or some turo-turo?” Mikey Arroyo asked in last night’s TV Patrol World newscast.

Former UFC light heavyweight champ Chuck Liddell joins Dancing with the Stars

Watch out, Dancing with the Stars fans, the Iceman cometh. Former Ultimate Fighting Championship light heavyweight champion Chuck “The Iceman” Liddell, that is.

Liddell, who hasn’t fought in months, has yet to decide whether he’ll officially retire from the UFC, but for now the mixed martial arts legend will showcase his skills on the dance floor instead of the octagon. Too bad Tito Ortiz isn’t his dancing partner, heh.

Manny Villar says Willie Revillame ‘very qualified’ to run for senator, offers Wowowee host slot in NP ticket

On my way home last night, I heard on DZMM radio that presidential aspirant Senator Manny Villar is inviting Wowowee host Willie Revillame, who is on indefinite leave from the show after the furor caused by his remarks on the Cory Aquino cortege video, to run for senator in the Nacionalista Party ticket.

What?

An online petition calling for Revillame’s ouster has gathered nearly 50,000 signatures already; the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board has filed a complaint and called for the preventive suspension of Revillame; Facebook users have launched the Anti Willie Revillame Movement Facebook Group; and different organizations like the Alyansa ng Filipinong Mamamahayag have issued statements against Revillame, and somehow all this convinced Villar that Revillame should run for senator?

Here’s an excerpt from the abs-cbnNews.com story. Read it and weep.
